The social opinion of the Romans about homosexuality will remain negative in time, but the tenuous attempt to punish it through the introduction of the Scantinia lex, does not result in cash. This rule was introduced to prosecute homosexuality in general and not specifically cases of pedophilia, as has been said, but the Romans repeatedly failed to comply with the law. It will be the arrival of Christianity that progressively ends with permissiveness.
