Empty Ideology and Circular Violence
Abstract
The violence exerted against the population in the "State of Emergency" context raises a complex scenario in regard to the legitimacy of the current State and its projections for the future. This essay delves into this problem from the perspective of the practical interplay between ideology and violence in the Chilean State. This interplay poses a discourse crisis that could affect the legitimacy of the current State and presents an issue that frames itself as an immediate consequence of understanding repression as the only practical foundation of the State and, with that, a violence that lacks practical ideological pretentions.
